I would have squealed with delight at finding such a treasure !! Good for you. And......... wouldn't the quiltmaker be happy and honored to know that you are finishing her quilt for her. Have fun with this project.

Once I bought a beautiful basket top and quilted it by hand. However one of the plain blocks was a weird color- they were muslin but it was "off" so I replaced it before I quilted. My son told me that whoever made the top would haunt me :D:D:D
But the brat was wrong- it's been years since I finished it lolol

I only paid $4.00 for this. I couldn't believe someone else hadn't snatched it up. As I was looking it over some other lady came along and was looking at the other end of it. I thought we might have a little disagreement but she walked off and left it to me. Yeah!!
