Default My Grandbabies' Quilts...so far! :-)

When I was a young mother, I wished my children had grandmothers who quilted. I was a little sad they didn't. Although it was hard to imagine at that time, I thought, "I'll be a grandmother some day!" It was then that I started teaching myself to quilt. I have no idea how many I've done since then (30-something yrs. ago), but the ones I've done for my grandbabies are favorites!

Madeline's Quilt (1999) I didn't take very detailed pics in those days. Each duckie was different and cross-stitched.

Noah's Quilt (2002) Again...pic not so good. There was a cute little fishing boy in the center.

Jack's Quilt (2004) Actually, I was behind on this one. I didn't make poor Jack's quilt until I found out my daughter was pregnant again in 2007. In my defense, my husband and I were doing mission work at the time in Honduras...does that let me off the hook??? Since he was so interested in pirates at the time, that's what he got!)

Luke's Quilt (2008) Made in Honduras.

Georgia's Quilt (2009) Made in Honduras. She HATES her quilt! My DIL loves anything old...guess that's why she loves me! We chose 30's-40's reproduction prints and an older pattern. Don't know if you can see it, but along the curve of each fan I hand embroidered flowers.

Nolan's Quilt (2010) I found this pattern here I used mostly fabrics from Robert Kaufman's line, "Chirp" by Katie Hennagir

Molly & Avery (twin granddaughters due in September) and "?" (due in December) to come...

You are one talented Grandma. The pink fan is my favorite, because I love repro fabric, but they are all so cute.

What beautiful keep sakes you have made for them - I am sure the little who "hates" hers will love it later! I am so glad I am learning to quilt, I didn't start till I had grandchildren!

Those are some lucky grandkids that you decided to be a quilting grandma. Each quilt is a great one, May in Jersey

I am so glad your Grandchildren have a generous Grandmother who quilts. I don't know which I enjoyed more, the quilts or the babies.
