She said it perfectly! I agree - the stripes make it special.

This is so pretty and just takes me back to another era. You did a lovely job finishing it up and I know it will be a family heirloom.

This post has changed my mind on the design of my Flower Garden Quilt, it's in the early stages so it wont be a problem. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thanks everyone for such wonderful compliments. My grandmother always had her hands busy on something inside or out. This quilt top just seemed to bring the two together as a wonderful memory of her. She started it and two generations later it's finished. Now I'll have to figure out which of my two daughters will eventually get it!

Do you know when she made the quilt? The quilt in my avatar has the same green. It was made be a lady's great grandmother and she died in 1947. Your's is lovely! You both did a wonderful job!

As far as I know it had to be made back in the 40's or 50's. It was already in her cedar chest when I was 8 - 10 years old and I was born in '53. She had a bag of completed flowers packed up with it and told me she fully intended to finish it one day. She lived to be 89 but didn't trust her eyesight enough to sew much in her later years. I jumped on it when she offered it to me and I promised I'd finish it one day. Hope you're proud of me Grandmama.
