I think that I'd finish the one that is just a top. A top that isn't a quilt just doesn't seem to be complete. Many quilts have been quilted years after by later generations and if you choose the backing and binding carefully, I can't see that it would lower the value of this family keepsake.

I just can't wrap my brain around something made by a family member "not matching the decor".
