My great niece and her butterfly quilt.

I finally got it done.... had to replace the black wings because the fabric shredded but it's done!!! Whew!! And, she likes it. This picture is my sister and her granddaughter (my great-niece)and the lap quilt. Now I have to get started on her two brother's quilts.

Two more great-nieces were born this summer so I'm behind on getting quilts done already.

I like the butterflys. They are as unique as your G-Niece's smile. It will be loved forever.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments. I don't know where the original pattern came from. The LQS had a queen size quilt in the shop and asked me to see if I could come up with a class to teach it. The quilt was lovely...... and I traced off the pattern and worked on making up a class. I made up 2 blocks but the interest in it had wained and the class got canceled. So, I decided to make up 2 more blocks and use them for this quilt. I have seen other butterfly quilts that are similar..... maybe someone else knows its true beginning.

    Really pretty!
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.
