My husband retired a few years ago, and grumped around that he was bored, so I suggested that he try his hand at patchworking - never thought he would take me up on it!! I taught him everything I knew, and now he is better than me!! Below is a quilt he made for his sister, (a man who never sewed a button on in his life!!). A quilting friend remarked that it was great, and she loved the "masculine" colours. Well, his next effort was his idea of proving that there is no gender bias in patchwork! He does his own quilting too. He uses my stuff, makes a mess, is quite unconventional in the way he cuts, but boy its great to be married to someone who never complains about my fabricologist research centre - unless I don't have a fabric he is looking for!!!

He's got talent, that's for sure! LOVE the muted masculine colors in the first quilt.

He really is quite talented! It must be fun to have someone to share your passion with! Do you each have your own machine so you can sew/quilt when you want to!

Wow, the man does have talent. I like them all. But that masculine one, the colors, oh is he good.

That is funny, he only gets upset with your stash if it doesn't have the fabric he wants. Does he shop with you

They are awesome! I'm trying to get mine to quilt. So far he has designed one, but I'm cutting it and making it. Maybe some day.

What great quilts!! He certainly took to quilting in a big way :-D
Next time he complains about not having the right material in your stash, it's time for a shopping trip for you two.
I bet his sister and the two little girls are so proud of their quilts and the man that made them.
