(I'm not sure if this goes here or under "Pictures" - if it needs to be moved, that's ok)

Anyway, I found this material last week and fell absolutely in love with it - the swirls remind me of the standing water after a hard rain here (SW Alabama) in the spring with all the pollen mixed in it along with the orange clay...
I wanted to use a pattern that showed off the material and chose this one and I think it turned out just as I hoped (that doesn't always happen!)
Once again, a 'traditional' pattern with the new materials...
I'm now getting ready to put it together - this is the part I hate :-o getting it all pinned together ready to quilt...
I call it "After the Rain"

Janeen, that is just fantastic, your discription of the earth describes it so well, and just look how it coordinates with the grass behind!!

seeing as you hate pinning ready for quilting - I use the 'microstitch' gun, it uses ultra small tacks - check it out its really simple to use speeds up the job no end. You can even stitch over the top of the tacks as they are so small they are no threat to your machine needle either if you are machine quilting. Have a look a few pages in on my post called - Do you want to see some progress, there are a few pictures of the tacks close up so you can see for yourself!!

    Love your quilt!!

You did great Janeen!! I love your description and really hope you put that on your quilt label. The orange really keeps it alive too. Great job in execution!! Thanks for sharing, Skeat

Love it. I made a quilt for my daughter with that exact pattern, wth pinks and purples. I think yours is beautiful. I love all the earthy tones.

    Good Job!
