Default My leader and ender project

A few years ago I made a DWR quilt, handquilted it and gave it to my brother and his wife. They were longarmers, made a lot of quilts and loved the DWR pattern. My sister-in-law passed away last November and now my brother finds comfort in that quilt that they both loved so much. I'm glad because if one loses a mate one has had for 59 years one needs comfort wherever it can be found. But my niece has always drooled over that quilt and wished for a DWR as pretty as that one, etc.etc.etc. So I thought,"Why not?" And I cut the almost 2000 pieces and put them beside my sewing machine and used them for leaders and enders. The one I made my brother was scrappy and so this one is too. It used a LOT of scraps that were too small for most everthing else. It is finally done but my hand quilting days are over so my brother quilted it for me on his longarm. Sh-h-h-h-h, it is for my niece for Christmas so don't tell.

Very clever of you to do this as a "leaders and enders" project! Working on two quilts at once without batting an eye. I love the finished quilt.

Beautiful quilt. I don't usually care for the DWR block but I love yours. I am a scrappy girl and your use of scraps makes your quilt so warm and comfy looking. Really nice job, your niece will love it.
