A lady my mother knew from her little crafting circle passed away recently, and her husband and daughter were left to get rid of all of her crafting things. She was a quilter, among other things, and rather wealthy so she had all kinds of really nice expensive coordianting fabrics... My mother god dibs on the quilting stuff and she took it all home for me to sort through. I don't keep scraps, I don't have the room for them and I just throw them in the garbage, so I didn't take any of those ( two boxes full) but I sorted through the other fabrics and took the ones I liked best. There are still big boxes of fabrics left at my mother's house. Most of these are in 2+ meter cuts.
I also took a picture of my drawer full of FQs, there are a couple missing since I was using them yesterday for my Cathedral Windows quilt but you get the picture. I also brought some fabrics home last week too, but the're already separated and put away with their own colour groups so I wasn't about to take them all out again.
I got a bunch of rulers too, one of them has a cutter right on the edge! I can't wait to try that one!

the one on the bottom has a rotary cutter built in... no more slips!

I took the magazines and one book and let my mother keep all the other books. Some of them were bloody expensive!

My FQs

I think this is what a charm pack is... there's about a dozen fabrics in ther and I think this is about 12" squares

Not sure I want to cut this up...

You are a lucky girl! The lady would be glad that someone is using her stuff and it was nice that her family didn't just discard her things.

You definitely have a very nice selection of fabrics and quilting accessories!!!! Please don't throw the scraps away, there's so many people on this board that would love to have them for their own. Most are willing to pay postage and they can use such small pieces for crumb quilts, postage stamps, and scrap quilts!
I can't wait to see what you make out of these wonderful fabrics!!

I know, I'm really bad with the scraps. If it's around 1/4 meter or less, I'll put it aside to give to my mother, but the smaller pcs I just can't be bothered to have hanging around, I have like NO room in my basement. My mother has been asking me to keep them for her, maybe I'll put an extra waste paper basket and throw them in there and then package them up for her.
