Here is my mariners compass. Was really very easy. Don't be afraid to tackle it. It was fun to make.

This is so pretty. Is it paper pieced?

Beautiful, I watched a video on Kaye Wood tv, a lady doing a paperpieced mariners compass, simply beautiful, and looked so easy, no wonder their points look so good.

No paper pieced. It's a pattern from Phillipps Fiber art. You need two special tools and they have a tutorial on their site on how to do it. You cut out the pieces and they get folded and sewed together. Sew perfect 1/4 " for the points of the stars and it turns out that way.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I'm definitely going to check out the tutorial, especially if it's not paper pieced!
