Default My "Midnight Garden" quilt

Below are some pics of a quilt that I finished a few weeks ago that I call "Midnight Garden". It's based on a pattern named "Garden Fair" by Blackbird Designs from their book called "Garden Club". Their version was done with a neutral colored background but I wanted to use a black background to make the colors really pop. Also, their version had 22" blocks, but I wanted a larger, king size quilt so I scaled the blocks up 125% to be 28" blocks. The applique is fused and I then did a blanket/buttonhole stitch around the edges of each piece and quilted it on my Gammill longarm. To finish it off I added jumbo black ric rac around the outer edge of the quilt for a final flourish.

So glad you are back and with a heaping helping of eye candy too! Beautiful, I love your back fill of leaves and that beautiful scrolly vine quilting in the outer border. How did you feel about doing the black thread on black background longarming? I did one a ways back (pictured here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...l-t270708.html) and I felt like I was quilting blind at times. Love the look though.
