I posted a few days ago my moms quilt she gave back for me to redo for her. I had made this quilt last year and must have been really tired when I made it. I realized none of the blocks were even and I don't even think I thought to check (This is why I joined the board to learn what I didn't know) So I had 5 1/2" squares and 6" squares how I didn't see this who knows. I guess finding out my mom had cancer made me rush the quilt the backing of this quilt was this weird polyester eyelash purple why in the world did they make this material kinda mistake. She said she never used it because it was a cold quilt. And she joked with me that she named it "What did I do to deserve this!" Or "In the beginning" Since my skills have sharpened. Well I asked some of you for some ideas and alot of them included using black and I decided to make her the Mirrored block like I Have on my avatar and I have to to tell you I LOVE the way this turned out. I do need to make it one row bigger and longer. But was so excited to show you all!!! Sorry they are not the best pics

Wow! What a change...are you sure that is the same quilt lol. Glad that you found a solution so your mom's quilt can now be: "Oh honey, I don't deserve something this beautiful".

Wow, what a difference your makeover made! A phoenix rises from the ashes.

It just goes to show that we can always make a good quilt out of a bad one with a bit of ingenuity.

    Congratulations on a superb job.
