I found this at a local yard sale just 4 blocks from my house. I got it for $40. Her husband put it in this cabinet so it isn't an original cabinet. Not sure if I will leave it in the cabinet or take it out and store it that way. I have a 1950s reproduction of a 1850s Singer that I use every day. I bought it for $25 30 years ago and it is the only one I can use for miniatures. My Brother tends to stick the little squares down into the feed dogs so I love my old Singer. This one has the same foot and basically works the same way as mine so I wanted it for a back up if something happens to mine. This green one works great. I will have to figure out it's idiosyncrosies because they all have them. But I am going to enjoy checking it out. Caroline and one of her grandsons delivered it for me last night so I didn't have to haul it.

I think I got a pretty good deal!

Is it a 185J? I had a 285K but sold it. It was such a cute green machine.

I also have a Singer that is in a case. So I have 3 now. That Singer won't work. I need to have it looked at one of these days. Maybe ship it to Billy and have him look it over! LOL It was only $5 at a yard sale. I have a couple of other old machines that are not Singer. One is a White I know but can't remember what the other one is.

It's cute. BTW, do you have a straight stitch plate on your Brother? They help immensely with keeping fabric out of the feed dogs.
