Go for it. I love that fabric and can't wait to see what it will look like as an OBW.

That looks like a good fabric for a OBW. Go for it! :)

It will look great. Just follow the directions in the book and all will be well.

Really pretty fabric, hope to see it when you get it done, too. I have not tried the OBW yet, either.

The hardest part is lining up the fabric and taking the plunge into cutting!!! Once you do the first row it is a piece of cake. The next step is too much fun, sewing all the hexagons....the hardest part is laying them all out....But they are such fun to do. You will be fine, and can't wait to see pics of the progress you are making.....So go ahead.......get going.......the sooner the better!!! LOL

You can take my advice or leave it but I'd say that this is not an ideal OBW fabric. There's too much plain background, apart from the large open daisies, the print is too small and there's not enough colour variation. Of course it will make a pretty quilt as it's pretty fabric :D but you won't get the full kaleidoscope OBW effect with it. You could be happy with that, or you could decide to go ahead anyway then jazz it up with cubes or applique, but I just didn't want you to be disappointed. :-D

As Gaigai and Earthwalker have said, you should really get one of the Maxine Rosenthal books, if you haven't already. It's not only her step by step instructions with photos that are clear and invaluable, it's also her very explicit guidelines on choosing fabric and then on the principles of a successful design layout. It's really worth the investment if you want to be successful at this. :-D

Material is so pretty I would have a hard time cutting it also but I am sure once you begin you will do a great job! Send us pics of the finished goods...
