    I divided both the sides and top/bottom by six to get the size of the rectangles I needed. Of course they were odd sizes so a specialty ruler would not work. I cut rectangles 7/8 inches larger and then sewed one blue and one orange rectangle together on the diagonal to get the split rectangles. They really came out rather wonky but I used them anyway! If you google split rectangles you can find some tutorials.

    It's adorable! And your quilting looks great! I'm still -- well, not lately but have good intentions -- working on learning FMQ; not sure I'll ever have the nerve to actually quilt something doing it.
