I love making rag quilts! Did you know that you can also use chenille, cordyroy and denim in rag quilts? I've used all of these in combination with flannel & they fray nicely. Maxine

How big were your "seams" and how far a part did you cut to "fray" the edges? Yours is just sew cute. Also, sorry i have so many ? - did you put warm & natural or something in between your squares? The full size of the square or the finished size (between the seam lines)? Thanks for enlightening me :}

The cut squares are 7 in. seams 1/2 in and I snipped the seams about 1/4 in apart.

I did use Warm & Natural cut a smidge under 5 in.

This should finish about 6 in sq. I say about, because I'm not too accurate in the 1/2 seam. I did a diagonal stitch from corner to corner of each sandwich. You can draw a line or just eyeball it as I did. I didn't wash my fabrics before cutting so the shrinkage helps to conceal some of the sloppiness I create, but it make it a little puffier.

Setting the six in sqs. on point the becomes about 8 1/2 in. wide.

I also like the 2nd one. It is really pretty and I really like the looks of both your quilts. Will the raggy quilt seams keep fraying and come undone after a lot of washings?

I have a lot of corduroy ... leftovers from my garment sewing days and I have a lot of denim (old jeans). I've never made a rag quilt. Would/could you integrate these types of fabric in one quilt successfully?
