Never thought of the blanket under it for the border!! LOL But it could work, except that is hubby's favorite blanket and don't think he will let me use it anywhere except on his bed!!! lol

I like it the way it is too. Also like the sashing and the border.

Here are the blocks or some of them. I still haven't decided what kind of lay-out to use. But my question is I wonder if I used to many scraps! Maybe I shouldn't have used so many different fabrics!
What do you think...he is going to get it anyway but for my next scrappy quilt maybe I should not get so "messy"!
I think it's beautiful!! I'm always amazed at scrappy quilts!! My scrap quilts don't ever look this good and how can you have too many scraps?? I love it!!

A scrappy (or messy) quilt is meant to have as many fabrics as you can. I think It is perfect. He will love it. the fun part is the layout. I am sure you will figure that one out. Have fun with it.

Love it! Can a scrappy really be too scrappy? He wanted "messy" so that is what he will get. Well not really because it doesn't look messy, it looks great. I love the white paper birch fabric, would love to get my hands on some of that! If you have a copy of or can get your hands on a copy of Eleanor Burns log cabin book (possibly the Orion Star one) it has a ton of different layouts in it and you can play with them until you are happy. Good luck. I can't wait to see how you put it together.
