I know you must be having a ball with him!!! I too have a grandson (8yrs old) who wants to sew. I told him this summer when he and his sister are here I will teach him. I can't wait. I hope I will at last have a 'quilting buddy'!!

He has perfected "the look." In spite of that, a great kid all around.

I got home last night after a guild board meeting and he had added on to two (of twelve) blocks. When I pointed out that he had had free rein in the sewing room for hours, his response was that he was still closer to finished than me... And yep, he is right about that... Silly boy. He has lacrosse practice tonight, so I might be able to sneak ahead of him (though who am I kidding - my project has over 1,800 pieces - scrappy Bonnie Hunter pattern for an upcoming workshop - his as 112).

Cheers, K

Love the second photo of him! And good on him for showing an interest in making his own quilt.

I love that second pic with the "look". So cute! But am glad to know he may be sharing your passion for sewing!

What a darling young man! Enjoy every moment of this precious experience. As a teacher I appreciated his graph paper and diagram. He's doing his math teacher proud too. I can't wait for a continuing update about the progress to the final product.
