My Mom used to have an expression, "Don't eat the cow then choke on its tail!" If you haven't heard it before, it means "Don't get through the big/hard part and then quit/mess up at the end." You've made beautiful blocks so don't take a chance with the busy sashing. It would take less than a yard for sashing so I'd use solid for that even if you have to buy it, then decide what you want for border. Have you considered using the back side of some fabric from your stash, so it will read as a solid? Another quote, "You paid for both sides of the fabric so use whichever one works best!" (Those chevron fabrics would make pretty Dresden Plate blocks.)Originally Posted by tesspug
Thanks, I did want opinions. I only have 1/2 yards of each cut so was thinking of using all and mixing them up. I agree it is very busy with the chevron. But I don't have any solids and wanted to use my stash.

Use them for the back... I would go with a simpler solid or tonal for the sashings. You did such a wonderful job on the blocks, they deserve to be the 'stars'.Originally Posted by tesspug

Your blocks are turning out nicely.
I like the green sashing best but whatever you pick will be good your colors are already very nice.
I'm doing this one too but fell way behind.
