DH and I also wanted to repair machines as an additional source of income.. but it hasn't happened...too much life and illness... :( but I still have the sewing machines :D
Thank you so much. Unfortunately the prices on these are a little out of reach for me right now. I need to find something around $100 or less (is that possible?). Maybe I need to consider just a book to lead me through - Does anyone know of any books to teach me? I seem to be able to learn new quilting techniques that way, so perhaps I could learn repair as well. I've surfed in the past and found a few options, but I'm hoping someone will have first hand info on a good training program.
lol Just out of curiosity....how many machines do you have? Pics?

I believe it needs a motor and a bobbin plate, perhaps more. But, I had wanted one for so long and for $20 I couldn't resist. It had a cabinet, a cheap one thank goodness, cause it wouldn't fit in the car and had to be left behind. :( lol and no, not looking to ship....

You have a Necchi in there. Join the Necchi site. It has tutorials that would apply to some other makes. I saw complete directions somewhere. Was it the site of the British repairman who is also a writer? Let me think about it.

There are manuals on the Internet specific to some machines. When I searching for a owner's manual for a Singer Stylist last night, I found several. I found the manual today.

WOW, what a collection. I think you can google the brand name of the machine for a repair manual. Sometimes you can get them online. I have the same old Kenmore (3rd one down on the left of your pic). Got it over 10 years ago at a garage sale for $30. Runs like a charm. It's my "backup machine" when my Viking doesn't want to run. LOL
