My friend Colleen wanted to learn how to quilt so for Christmas I gave her a card and a coupon good for sewing lessons on my machine and she could choose from my stash enough fabric for 6 placemats and a table runner.

She was a total newbie and I was amazed at how quickly she caught on.

    Here are some pictures!

That was a nice Christmas gift. And fun too! She did a great job under your guidance. It's fun sharing quilting with someone.

Thanks everyone! She has a 12 year old son who has CP and is in a wheelchair, so she really needs a hobby to keep her occupied at home. She comes here while he's in school and it's great for her to get out during the day.

I think we'll continue to sew together for awhile. She's a natural but there's lots to learn!

Great job all around. And as far as for having a lot to learn -- well, don't we all. My mom used to tell me (when I was learning to sew and wanted "perfection" right away) that Rome wasn't built in a day. I'd bet that she begins her own stash soon.
