A few months back when this quilt pattern was the topic of discussion on this board, I decided I wanted to make one. I figured it would be a long term project because I wanted a BIG one. Well, it was not quite so long term. It was a bit tedious, but in a good way (if that makes sense). I used most of my stash of blue jean squares (cut them into circles). I added W&N and W&W batting (from leftovers)in each square as I wanted it to be warm. Spent a lot of time with my rotary cutter and square ruler.
Making this was fun. It is one of those projects that you can do in spurts. I made it in sections of 4 rows each. Then put on one section at a time keeping the new section in my machine throat to reduce bulk there. Finally finished this afternoon and am proud of it.
Thanks for looking. I love getting inspirations from this board.

from that far away, you really can't see the colors in the fabrics. There really are several different ones. :)

That is amazing. I've tried one of these blocks, and I probably won't do it again. It is absolutely amazing that you were able to do it with denim.
That must be one heavy quilt.

I have one of those quilts planned - my mom gave me my dad's jeans (he passed away in July) so we are making a quilt out of them. First I have to finish the quilt from his memorial - everyone signed a square. -

I love your jean quilt and its an inspiration to me.

Fantastic! Every time I see a Cathedral Windows quilt, I place it at the top of my to do list...then I become very intimidated and it goes to the bottom of the list again. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
