That is the saddest story ever! How can someone do that to their mom! Hopefully one of these days he will miss it and realize what a treasure he sold for $20 bucks.

I so hope his mother isn't around to know that he sold it. It would break my heart if one of my kids did that. The design, etc. is immaterial (no pun intended . . ;o)

I think it is so sad when someone goes to all that trouble to make it and he dismisses as though it is nothing. How inconsiderate

This son clearly doesn't understand it's worth. Sad for them and hooray for you.

I also think it's sad when a family member sells a quilt. But............we don't know what he is going through right now. Times are hard for a lot of people and maybe she told him if he ever needed he could sell it. He may have many more quilts she made. Maybe it was ment to be. Glad it went to someone who could appreciate it. It is a lovely quilt. BrendaK

That is a good find....perhaps his mother has passed away and it brings too many memories for him-reason he's willing to let it go.

Yes it's sad and there could be lots behind the story. He lives in a stunning home, but I forgot to tell you April got one almost like it, he had two of them. My DGD slept under this one last night, nice & toasty. I washed it on hand wash and tumbled it dry and oh so soft.

I am giving away my quilts now because I am sure my Son will do the same thing. Makes me a little sad that he would not treasure them.

I think things like this find their way to the proper person. Better being loved by you than ignored by him, even if it was his mother's work. Now it's getting some of the love back that was put into it so it balances out.

And why can't I find awesome stuff like that at garage sales!?! *jealous*

Unfortunately it's sad but life isn't perfect and relationships fall apart, which obviously has happened in this case. The quilt has found a home at last where it will be appreciated.
