I agree with the others. So sad that he felt no ties to this treasure & that he would sell it for $20.00 adding insult to injury.

Agree with all the above...lucky you! Maybe he's not a sentimental guy.

Perhaps he REALLY needed the twenty dollars. So sad.

Well I just posted this as I felt I was lucky to get this quilt, it may not be worth alot but it's still a beautiful quilt and I'm sure it's made with lots of love and time.

To think of all the soreness her tired fingers went through to make her son this awesome quilt and he sells it. I couldn't ever be that desperate to seel what my mother made for me. Some people just don't value sentimentality. But then, maybe he really needed the money, who knows. I shouldn't judge the man, still sad though.
Thank You Lord for answering my prayers, in this I am truely blessed!

Thanks ladies, I totaly agree. I do make quilts to sell but would not sell a special quilt made for me & I'm trying to make sure all my kids get a special one from me as well.

How could he part with something he mother made especially for him? Whether it's a "fancy" quilt or not, her loving hands spent many hours making that for him. Can't believe he gave it up for $20. Lucky you!!!

How sad is that? If my son sold a quilt that I made for him---at a garage sale no less!---for any amount of money, I would come back to haunt him. lol. I'm assuming that the guy's mother is deceased. If she isn't, she should knock him in the head.

Someone has put a lot of love and care into it. Look how precise all the little blocks are chosen and pieced together.

It's so true, how much love and work go into quilting, looks as if it is handpieced, it is sad that he not want to keep this labor of love his mother made for him. Many do not realize how precious handmade things are. It is beautiful.
