When I make a log cabin quilt I get really bored making just one block over & over & over! So have done up log cabins that use more than one color way, as in my summer Navajo. It not only has 3 color ways but both log cabin blocks, (half light half dark) but also court house steps blocks, (the darkest blocks) then 4 tras blocks, where the CHS blocks cross, In my Navajo fall quilt I used 5 different color ways, as I added a row of blocks all around the quilt as a border.

planed overs, still to be quilted

I like the way you think. Your quilts are pretty, and in my colors, too. They could come live with me anytime.

Fresh take on an old favourite. Love your work. The first one particularly appeals to me, great use of colour.

That's what you call thinking out of the box. The result is gorgeous.
I'm like you, I need a challenge and the quilts that are so repetitious get boring. I usually love the finished result but have trouble staying with them.
