A very different layout for Trip Around the World - sorta like Trip meets Baragelo - very effective

Thanks for all the nice compliments.
I found some scraps from this quilt the other day and made a mouse pad from them.

The Navajo pattern was in a book along with the Trip Around the World and Sunshine & Shadows.

I don't know who authored the book. I've misplaced all my quilt book that I didn't give to my sister when I moved a year ago.

That is absolutely stunning! Was the book called Tradition with a Twist? I would really love to find this pattern.

I searched with google for Trip around the world quilts --navajo and found a listing for the book.
it is TRIP AROUND THE WORLD QUILTS By Blanche Young & Helen Young
I've had my book for many, many years so the book is probably out of print, but you can probably find a used one someplace.

this book has cardbord templates that you use for the stripcutting. I only made one that way and then figured out how to do it in what I thought was a simpler way.

Since I make lots of quilts using the same pattern, I ususally have to figure an easy way to strip piece.
I have probably made this pattern seven or eight times.

Oh, forgot to add this information about the book. It has all these quilts in it, which are considered trip around the world quilts.
    Streak of Lightning
    Sunshine and Shadow
    Evening Shadows
    Navajo
    Many Trips Around the World
    Trip Around the World

I thought it had Boston Commons in it also, but I must have had a complete book of that pattern.
