absolutely gorgeous. Is there batting, and how is it held together, as it seems to be completed. I have literally hundreds of ties and would love a project like this

LOL, I think I need to do some searching on quilts from ties.
These are all different kinds of ties. The interfacing keeps them from stretching or distorting because many of the ties are silky, slippery & all are cut on the bias. I'll post pictures of the process.

will be waiting to see how you did it, as I am confused on the two tie fabrics sewn to the interfacing

Very nice. Does the quilt need to be dry cleaned because of the neckties?

Beautiful layout of the colors/ties. A true heirloom quilt. I've always wanted to make one and have looked at resale shops for old ties but could not get beyond the old "smell" and thought it would be kinda pricey to dry clean so many. Someone told me you can put vodka in a spray bottle and that it would neutralize any odor without damaging the silk. I'm not so sure about that one though. LOL

Striking!! How many neckties did you use? and did you take them apart before you began?

Mabel, I envy the lady who owns this quilt. You did such a beautiful job. I've never seen this pattern used for a necktie quilt but it turned out great. You matched the colors up perfectly.Very artistic lady. D'Marie
