Can you give me some opinions on which border would look best?

I like the larger print with maybe a small (tiny) strip of a solid!

PS: I love cats also, love this quilt.

I would go with the first one. It looks best with the background.

I'm confused because it appears you have another layer next to it? I have a hard time deciding when it's there...but if I had to pick now, I'd say the second one...

I am a bit confused too. But I would only put a wide boarder next to the dark brown sashing, and it would be a tonal, or I could see a white and black zebra print next to the dark brown.

I think my countertop is showing so looks like another print. The dark sashing is actually a brown with green color.

    this is the granite countertop

The pictures are a panel that I cut apart. It is for my friend although it is almost a year late. She loves cats. Most of her cats have 6 toes.

I didn't take a good look at your examples, but I almost always choose the dark color for the final binding and let the other fabrics be in the border. It kind of depends upon what you want to bring attention to in the finished quilt....I also try to see (when auditioning fab.) a good balance of color. (I am a retired int. decorator) and find that I look at my quilts in the same way I looked at color, fabrics, ets, when working...One thing I try to remember, if it applies, is to have the visual weight ona the left and bottom. Hope this helps.....ultimately it probably always depends on what looks best to your own eye...good luck and good quilting
