Default Need help in placing a border

I'm planning a quilt using borders made out of this fabric. Should the tops of the dogs' heads be on the inside of the quilt or towards the binding?

I would have the tops of the heads towards the quilt. Love the border fabric!

I would put them toward the binding. That is the way I have always done directional borders.

That's the way I'd do it. But I think it's purely a matter of choice.

when the quilt is on the bed, the tops of the heads should be right side up. thus, the heads should go toward the middle. it's really cute fabric !

I see your point but some of them will be upside down no matter which way you do it.

This is the way I did mine also. It felt 'backwards' when I had sampled it the other way. Either way you do it I'm sure it'll be wonderful, that's SUPER cute!!!!!

I would audition them and see what looks right to you as you view the quilt from different directions.

I did one with birds.....put the top of quilt towards outside so that when you backed off and looked at quilt, the tops of their heads were at top and feet at edge of quilt center. Then when I put the bottom one on, I put the heads towards the center of quilt and feet on outside edge. When you looked at quilt both top and bottom were facing you correctly. The sides of quilt had heads towards center and feet towards binding so as it draped over side of bed, the birds were facing right sides up when you looked at it. Hope this helps solve your problem.
