Love, love your quilt. Eagles look fabulous on the backdrop. Lots of great ideas here. It all depends on your skill level of quilting. Perhaps you can draw out your quilting design ideas on a sheet of clear plastic placed over your quilt to see what you think would be best. I have bought clear plastic on a roll from Walmart/hardware stores. It comes in different thickness' and you can wash off if you use the dry eraser markers. Very helpful when you can't decide which design would work. Good Luck and please post when quilted.

When I look at the quilt I see mountains, possibly a stream in the lower light areas. I'd definitely go with a "landscape" theme in the quilting. The eagles make this quilt especially striking. Maybe even give them a nest? A tree along one side with some branches going out?

It's really a beautiful quilt. It suggests mountain peaks, so I wonder about quilting the outlines of clouds somewhat randomly over the surface, at a density required by the batting. If this appeals, check out different styles of rendering clouds--our popcorn-y poufs, Japanese rather horizontal clouds, stylized Tibetan curlies, must be oodles more. And show a picture.

Finally the quilt is talking!!!! The idea of the mountain and trees with swirling wind is perfect! I cannot tell you how awe struck I am at all your comments. I have been in a quilting funk for some time because of this quilt. I cannot wait to put it on the Mid arm and get it done! Tweety2911 I bought some acrilic plastic from Home Depot about 24x48 to use as my see through work table practicing on my quilts. I use visa vis pens and it works great I just could not come up with something that would work for it. I really do appreciate all your comments they are so encouraging!!!

What I have heard and how I decide to quilt my quilts is that if it's squares do a circular type quilting if its circular do diamonds or lines so pretty much the opposite of the piecing. I use pantographs and don't do custom quilting so for that one I would probably do an all over simple pattern like

Whatever you do it will be beautiful!!

Love your quilt you just convinced me to make one for my son, I have been struggling trying to find the right pattern for him....stunning quilt

I would definitely outline the eagles. Maybe stitch in the ditch for the rest
