there are lots of feathers circle patterns that would look nice and there is also one that is a circle of hearts and it would go pretty quick . I saw one the other day that had a small flower in each corner and in the middle a grid that was maybe 4 squares by four , it really looked sharp. If you want something really quick you could always make a nine square grid in the plain print squares

I am working on a similar style quilt and I am doing a circular feather pattern in each large square. Hope that helps :)

I think I would Sid for everything but the open squares and then do something like a feathered circle or something general in a cross form but with curving lines for the open blocks. This is lovely and elegant.
