couple of weeks ago we found out what my SIL was going to be having. ITS A GIRL!!! She will be the fifth girl born on my hubbys side of the family in 5 years. My son is the only boy. poor little guy. hehe. This baby is going to be number two born this year. my BIL and his girl friend are having their second together and its a girl also. I couldn't bring myself to making another pink baby blanket. I have the top all done and have to decide how to back it. already have the binding ready to go. I hope that you guys like them. This is the first DNP that I have ever made and the pink one is a 10 min block that I put pics in the center of.

the new baby girls quilt.

LOVE the purple quilt - personally I would back it with flannel-backed satin. I have been using it that on most of my baby quilts for a couple of years and the babies/toddlers absolutely LOVE them. And with the satin back they use them year-round. And I usually tie them with the 1/16" or 1/8" satin ribbons. HTH

They are both wonderful! I haven't tried doing the photos on quilts before. I need to try that someday. :)

I used minky on the pink with a satin ribbon for the binding. I keep going back and forth between minky and flannel for the purple one that is why it is not finished yet. The families both live in Cali so I have to keep the blankets light.
