DH picked out fabrics and the pattern. The teacher picked out the book and blocks and there are several different ways to set the blocks. I picked an easy setting and he told me to challenge myself so he picked out, "NO Way Out".

    Pattern and fabrics.

gcathie, The book is "Better by the Dozen", by Susan Teegarden Dissmore. There are 12 different blocks and 12 different quilt patterns you can use to set them in. The first two blocks they assigned were fairly easy, but this month they sent a list of tools required that scares me! Graph paper, drawing ruler, mechanical pencil and a special triangle ruler. I think I may have to wring my DH neck!! Wish me luck.

Janstar, I think I would have to hand over the tools to the one who challenged you (DH  ) and tell him that after he has worked out the particulars to hand it over to you and you'll stitch it. HMMM? Seriously, just take it ONE STEP AT A TIME and you can work it through. Curiously, how big are these blocks. That seems like awfully small pieces. My fingers don't work tiny pieces so well.

OK, Went to class with all the neccesary tools and she taught us how to make a pattern. I think I'll just stick with the pattern they already have in the book. I'm too old to think that hard! I'll post four blocks as soon as I get the two new ones done. Everyone loved my first two blocks, the colors that is. They were all pretty and so different because of all the different fabrics and color choices.
