I am in awe (total awe) of your satin stitching. Mine always seems to have lumps, bumps and warts-- :?

Are you using a stiffener behind it when you stitch? Is is an applique foot with a little grove in the bottom for the stitch to move easier under the foot?

I use wall liner paper behind my work. It tears off afterwards. Any paper or even freezer paper should help. Tear it away after stitching then layer and quilt like any top. Hope this helps.
