I still use the floor, but I might be able to use a bed soon. BTW, still love your quilt...I'm almost done with mine!

We made stands with PVC for our guild's quilt shows. They work pretty well, but they're not as portable, adjustable, or easy to store as the photo backdrop stands. A friend and I bought ours at the same time, and we will loan them to the guild for quilt shows. We're hoping other members of the guild will buy some, or the guild can buy a few each year. When we bought our stands there was free shipping on orders over $100 (so we combined our order), but that offer seems to have gone away.

Dunster, that quilt took my breath away. I had never seen it before.

The frames to hold it were a really great idea!

    Thanks for sharing.

The only alternative (for me) was to hang them over the side of the balcony (indoors), but the light was bad, the space wasn't wide enough, and the stairs showed in the pictures.

I found this stand on amazon.com. It will expand to 12' wide and 10' high. It comes in a good quality case with a carrying strap. It adjusts easily and has tripods on the uprights. I did have some trouble setting it up with a big quilt, on the grass, on a somewhat windy day (attached picture - DH is holding one pole steady) - but on a flat surface, without the wind, it will work great.

(Yes, you've already seen this quilt - but I'll bet you've never seen such a good picture of it!)
    That is one AMAZING quilt!!
