    Antique white would look great... since the quilt has an OLD FASHION FLAIR to it. Stark white might be a bit harsh. I love this type of quilt.....it looks wonderful. BTW... Pearle Cotton has a nice soft antique white.

    rainbow -joyfull-quilt makes me want to make one- ??look to the back for you thread colour muilti in a pattern like diagonal all one colour etc

    we think alike. I discovered I had black, yellow and purple floss. on the diagonal I have a row of each color. so far it looks good. I've been hand knotting for hours and had to stop, my fingers are sore. I have to give them a rest.
