This is very beautiful workmanship and small payment to make (laughter). I will look forward to seeing your Mariner's compass. I keep thinking I would like to make one of these so please share your experience as well (smile). Thank you for sharing.

The handles are actually straight, but the angle of the picture makes them look crooked. He does beautiful work. The machine does go down into the frame and he made a top to cover it since this is in our guest room.
As payment for this, I'm making him a big mariner's compass quilt. He's wanted one for years and I was afraid to attempt the paper piecing. I found that it's not that difficult, just very time consuming.
