Hi guy's here is my top, now I need to put on the border but I want to close up the sides, so I need your help

1-Should I put a strip of alternating squares around the top to close up the blocks ( in the 2nd picture) before I do the border.
2- For the border should I use the yellow or the flowers or should I get a solid color like a dark rose or burgandy.

Here's a good place to get some ideas. Very nice quilt. I love the colors and it's HUGE!

I have no advice for your borders, because I have never made an Irish Chain. I just wanted to say that I think your quilt is gorgeous!!

1 - i would. i think irish chains look best when they're "complete" and balanced at top and bottom

2 - either the flowered or from any one of the darker colors in the flowered

that'll be 2 cents, please.

Think I would choose the flower pattern or just a solid burgandy. If you have to buy the burgandy then the flowers for sure it will make it pop.

Whatever you do will be beautiful. I just love the colors, can't wait to see it all finished. Make sure you post a picture.

I think I would go with the dark rose or burgandy to match the colors in the floral print for the border. Good luck choosing!! I'm sure it will be gorgeous whatever you choose. It's a really beautiful quilt.

Yes, do the completer row of yellow and burgundy flowers, it looks very nice that way. I would think a border of the burgundy would be wonderful.
