Today i emptied the bag of diamond shapes that my grandmother cut out before she died in 1945. My aunt gave me the bag. It looks like my grandmother was going to make Tumbling Blocks, but I don't think that pattern will show off the pieces she cut out to their best.

I was going to make Carpenter's Wheel blocks into a quilt to give to my mom (her mother cut out the diamond shapes & was only 7 when her mother passed away)

Weeelllll, I put together a 6 pointed star and it is 12 inches big!!! No Carpenter's Wheel, but i'll just make blocks of 6 pointed stars w/ sashing between each block

Monday - i'm heading to the quilt store, and I'm gonna get started over christmas break next week..

some diamonds...
