    ohh you should be able to tell easily. Just gently pull at the seams of one of the squares. The stitches will be less tight and LOOk handsewn.

    I just remembered that second quilt being called a Tennessee Hard Times quilt.
    The problem is the same setting can be called different things in different parts of the country. It wasn't until the age of the computer that we were able to see so many quilts and compare them.
