Beautiful, just beautiful! Can't think of any other words to say how great it is. I had to enlarge the pictures twice so I could tell the stitching is not machine stiching, because the stitches are so tiny!!!

What is "needlemarked"? I've never heard of that before....but then I'm a machine quilter. Your quilting is absolutely beautiful!!

I can easily see why this art work was in an exhibition. You should be very proud of your skill and artistry.

Just take a look at this thread:

It's a very traditional method of marking a quilt. I found it several years ago in a book from UK.

    I'm afraid I can't tell you my secret - I don't have one. I just do it.

It is a beautiful quilt. I do a double take every time I see your location as in Iowa, not far from where I live, we have the towns of Holstein and Schleswig!

How did you needlemark your quilt? I don't know what this means. Your quilt is really beautiful.

Here are some pictures of a North Country wallhanging I made in 2010. It came back home to me a few days ago after it's 2-years-journey with a traveling exhibition, organized by the German quilter's guild.

The size of the quilt is 49" x 40" and it's hand quilted. The patterns are very traditional North Country patterns like rose, flat iron and fans. I used Legacy 80/20 batting and YLI hand quilting thread. The patterns are needlemarked, therefore I didn't have to remove any pencil marks. Just perfect on a light colored fabric like this one.
