    Default North Country Wallhanging

Hello to you all! I hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Here are some pictures of a North Country wallhanging I made in 2010. It came back home to me a few days ago after it's 2-years-journey with a traveling exhibition, organized by the German quilter's guild.

The size of the quilt is 49" x 40" and it's hand quilted. The patterns are very traditional North Country patterns like rose, flat iron and fans. I used Legacy 80/20 batting and YLI hand quilting thread. The patterns are needlemarked, therefore I didn't have to remove any pencil marks. Just perfect on a light colored fabric like this one.

Another insanely gorgeous example of your work.

I really, really like the motifs on this one - the spirals and flowers - and the whole center layout.
They might be very traditional, but seem to me to be more informal, less rigid, than other whole cloths I've seen.
I think if I ever get around to making one myself, it will be in this style.

Lovely work. It's such a pleasure to look at the details....surprises everywhere.
    Thanks for posting it.
