I'm glad you enjoyed South Dakota - when you return, be SURE to go to the Badlands, which are very close to the Black Hills, where you were! Lots of caves to explore in the area, also!

I live 90 miles from Yellowstone Park-we buy season passes and go there as often as we can! We see something new every time, and are as thrilled as the first time we went. Every season is spectacular!

If you enter Yellowstone through the north entrance you will go through Livingston (Mt), there is a great little quilt store called Back Porch Quilts (on the south side of Livingston as you are headed south towards the park).

If you are going to Yellowstone pack lots of warm clothes and snow boots! Snow in the higher elevations all through this week. The only campgrounds that are open are Madison and Mammoth, all the rest have 2-3 feet of snow in them. Some of the interior roads are not open yet-they keep plowing them and then get another foot and a half of snow. (Info from friends that work in the park)

Is it my imagination or does it look like there is a dog's head at the right top of the mountain? I've never noticed it until I looked at this picture. Oh --- the pictures are wonderful.

Bring warm jackets for evening - even on a warm day in Montana & Wyoming, it gets cold after sun goes down. Best to have layers you can add or remove as weather dictates.
BTW, bring mosquito repellant of some kind - the wet weather has brought the largest buggers you can find, & they're hungry!

Sounds like a great vacation! If we can't be quilting sightseeing is the next best thing!
