I just use one of those pointy cutters from the dollar store. Everyone asks, I'll post a picture of it. The only other thing you need is a straight edge ruler, which I know all of us have at least one of.

You'll see it tomorrow. I have to do some kind of quilting on it and bind it. I am done for today. Time for my bubble bath.....

Very nice. Can't wait to see the finished product. I love the idea of a homemade template.

ok, please excuse me for being dense - but to do this you first sew squares together? - how many? then you use your ruler & re-cut? then that's what makes it look like you've cut squares apart and sewed them back together?

ROFLMBO yep, first take beautiful fabric, cut it all apart, sew it all together, then cut it apart again only to sew it together to make something beautiful....LOL only a quilter would do that.....and I'm off to try right now.

Thanks everyone. It is all put together. I have a burgandy sashing strip around it. Do you ever notice how when you get just about done with something you can't find quite the right color for a border or binding? All I have in that fabric is jelly roll strips and the 5" squares. There is only one of each design in the strips. Question: would it look funky to have a different design or color on each side. I think it will look tacky. And I am NOT going shopping. Remember, I am on a spending diet!!!!!
I wouldn't say tacky, more like creatively placed creativity
