I have no idea - it's not referred to in any of the books so I don't hink it's an 'official' term. :D Perhaps one made of flower fabric? Or with the setting triangles coming off to look like a star around the hex? I'm guessing here... I am accused of being pedantic with language but I THINK it's technically NOT an OBW which by definition has no sashing or settings of any kind. :D

Thanks....know there aren't many quilts missed on this board, but hadn't seen or heard of that one.

I was referring to melding the patterns, one block wonder and blooming 9 patch. Should be able to be done. I think it would be fun to try and wondered if anyone has done it yet. I played with the idea on the red and black OBW I did as i used 3 fabrics. Would need a lot more fabrics to blend from one hexagon to the next in concentric (sp?) pattern

this is the black/red with 3 fabrics

Your quilt is beautiful and the blooming OBW is a great idea! Would you do it using octagons? Then the blocks would be square and easier to set. It's fun to think of new ways to use the OBW technique. I just got Ricky Tims Convergence and am now thinking about converging an OBW. :-D
