    Thanks, everyone, for all your nice comments.

    Craftbear: the book Martina sent me is called "Applique Made Easy"; no author but it's an Oxmoor House publication. It gives instructions for different techniques. I used the freezer paper and starch technique.

    I love your runners. I especially like taking one pattern and making it multiple times but no one can tell you did it.
