My friend won a wall hanging quilt as a raffle prize. She liked it so much, she asked me to make a bedspread to coordinate with it and painted her walls lavender in anticipation.

I sketched a simple design, and we went shopping for fabric. I chose a quilting pattern called "Splash" which looked like a field of daisies to me. We were not able to find the exact fabrics, but chose an assortment of fabrics which resembled the fabrics used in the wall hanging.

My friend then decided that she would like to have a throw at the foot of the bed to coordinate.

After the throw was made, we decided she needed pillow shams too. Now she has a totally coordinated look

The wall hanging was just recently hung in her bedroom and now becomes the focal point.

Her room will now look like perpetual Spring or Summer. What do you think?

what fun... have you ever read the children's book If You Give A Mouse a Cookie? You & friend could do a rewrite - If You Give A Gal A Wallhanging. LOL

Bed throw is great - think of all the different ones you can make as the seasons progress. And I think she needs a runner for her dresser/bedside tables.

What a beautiful bedroom she has now! Love the wallhanging she won. And love the quilt and footcovering, and pillows you made to coordinate with her won treasure!!! I bet she smiles every time she enters that room. Good job.

This looks like you and your friend had fun putting the whole look together. I bet the creator of the wall-hanging would be flattered at learning how her small quilt snowballed into an entire room!

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

I also made curtains all the way around in her house! That's a different story!

Shhhhhhhh! She wants me to redo the bedroom curtains now. We put room darkening liner in them, and she doesn't like the fact that it makes them hard to open. I'm supposed to shorten them into valances (after she has her windows changed out to vinyl windows).

With the leftovers from the shortened curtains I will be making another quilt for her guest room. To be continued . . . .
