My friend won a wall hanging quilt as a raffle prize. She liked it so much, she asked me to make a bedspread to coordinate with it and painted her walls lavender in anticipation.

I sketched a simple design, and we went shopping for fabric. I chose a quilting pattern called "Splash" which looked like a field of daisies to me. We were not able to find the exact fabrics, but chose an assortment of fabrics which resembled the fabrics used in the wall hanging.

My friend then decided that she would like to have a throw at the foot of the bed to coordinate.
After the throw was made, we decided she needed pillow shams too. Now she has a totally coordinated look
The wall hanging was just recently hung in her bedroom and now becomes the focal point.
Her room will now look like perpetual Spring or Summer. What do you think?

what fun... have you ever read the children's book If You Give A Mouse a Cookie? You & friend could do a rewrite - If You Give A Gal A Wallhanging. LOL
Bed throw is great - think of all the different ones you can make as the seasons progress. And I think she needs a runner for her dresser/bedside tables.
