I started out making a scrappy Magic 9 Patch or Next Generation. Just pulling whatever piece came next to make a square. Then I said to myself, let's try putting all the same color pieces together. I've been looking at both for over a 1/2 hr and can't decide which way to go. I think I like the same color squares better.

    Your thoughts, please.

Both of them look really nice, but I myself like the same color best. Either way you go will be just fine.

I like the random. The black and white squares have a better pattern shape.

I made some block using this pattern. It sure is easy and fun.

What is fun is the fact you get two blocks from one nine patch!

Both are nice but I like the one that has the matching colors 2# best.

Both ways are great but the same color squares seem to pop out and say look at me.

I definitely lean toward the "same." It definitely has a scrappy feel while retaining some unity.

Now to add another possibility to the mix. Rotate every-other "same-color big block" 90 such that intersection of four "same-color big block" come together like the middle intersection in "scrappy squares" option. Hopefully that made sense.

It is going to be a great quilt no matter what.
