Default Orange and teal quilt

I'm a mostly a low volume / monochromatic quilter, so I was forced out of my comfort zone to make this quilt. I wanted to give a meaningful gift to the wonderful lady who took care of my three children for the last 8 years (my youngest is going to school after the holidays). Her favorite color is teal, but she also love anything bright and cheerful, so a blue-grey quilt was out of question. I spent weeks procrastinating over my fabric selection, adding or removing some, never sure it was right. I finally had to take the plundge so I could offer it to her for the farewell party. As soon as it was finished, I look at it and everything just felt right. Lesson learned: I shouldn't over-procrastinate and just go for it.

So glad you stopped procrastinating! This is a wonderful quilt and looks like you handled "out of your comfort zone" quite well.

What a pretty color combo I would have never thought of! And getting outside of our comfort zone can be a good thing and your quilt is a perfect example of doing just that. I’m sure it will be a treasured gift, well done!
